Habitat for Humanity

This year's home is being built for the Sara Williamson family at 2136 Pisgah Circle, Huntsville..  This is a different neighborhood from past years.

Since everyone will be hammering, if you have a hammer to bring, please feel free, just be sure to mark it somehow so somebody doesn't pick it up thinking it belongs to Habitat.  Work gloves are useful too :)

Remember, you must sign a waiver/emergency contact form before you can start work. Someone will be collecting them. You only have to do this on your first workday. You will also be asked to sign in so hours can be tracked. This you'll be asked to do every workday. Click on the links below for forms.  They will also be available at the site. REMEMBER - minors under the age of 14 are not permitted, and those between the ages of 14 and 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

As most of you know, a group of retirees works on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get things ready for whatever is scheduled on each Saturday.  I believe the group starts at 8.  Unlike Saturdays, snacks and lunch are not provided.  Dick Allen of Good Shepherd leads this group.  If you would like to work on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, please let Dick know and he will add you to his mail list.  His e-mail is adallens@hiwaay.net.

As always, thanks so much for the support you provide this ministry.

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that enables parishioners to get “hands on” in the community by building houses for those in needs.

It also gives parishioners the experience of fellowship, while building a good home for people in need.

Look for announcements for new builds in early spring.

Latest News - 2017 Build

Hi all.  Well, we're down to our final? week-end.  This week-end will be spent working on the landscaping.  Plan is to work just half a day so lunch will not be served.  This is a great week for teens to work if they need service credit hours.

If you plan to work and have lawn tools such as heavy-duty garden rakes, shovels and/or wheel barrows, please bring them.  BE SURE TO MARK THEM IN SOME WAY TO ID THEM AS YOURS.

The dedication is planned for May 20th, not sure of the time, but I will send out a message next week with the information.

Wayne and I would like to thank each of you who have worked on this year's home.  It is greatly appreciated by us, as well as the new homeowners.

Hope each of you have a great summer.  See you next year!!!
